In late 2007, laptop artist Christian Fennesz and his friend Mark Linkous, aka Sparklehorse, entered a quintessentially Dutch studio for two days for their long-prepared In The Fishtank session. Perhaps not an obvious combination at first glance, but on closer inspection, all the more so. Moreover, Fennesz had already played on Sparklehorse?s ?Dreamt For Lightyears In The Belly Of A Mountain? from 2006.

Both are skilled musicians who immediately see through each other?s capabilities. Fennesz had already conceived that the American?s surreal atmosphere and evocative guitar playing would combine perfectly. Together, they create a completely new world of rich, never-before-heard new sounds. Songs and soundscapes of unprecedented beauty and overwhelming atmospheres. Here, abstract sounds, craftsmanship, and traditional song structures come together. Here, acoustic instruments and electronics create an outstanding ambiance.
