1992, New York welcomed Vanessa Paradis. She recorded her third album there, featuring Lenny Kravitz, then newly discovered as one of the future greats of Anglo-Saxon soul-pop. Brass, strings, and swirling grooves resonate throughout her. Together they created the entirely English-sung "Vanessa Paradis," a tribute to the Supremes and other stars of the Motown and Stax labels.
